The alliance between the three companies allows us to promote circular packaging for the food sector, with the most demanding technical and safety requirements. Thanks to this agreement, the new Choví brand allioli mortars will contain 25% of chemically recycled material from post-consumer plastics, the first company in its sector to adopt this sustainable solution. In addition, the entire container is 100% recyclable after its useful life.

At Repsol, since the beginning of 2020, we have had the ISCC Plus certification in all our petrochemical complexes, synonymous with the use and traceability of recycled materials. In turn, Berry Superfos Pamplona and Grupo Choví received this certification at the end of 2020 and early 2021, respectively.

We have a wide range of circular polyolefins under the Repsol Reciclex® name, a product of mechanical and chemical recycling technologies, which allow us to take advantage of plastic waste not suitable for mechanical recycling that would otherwise end up in the landfill. Furthermore, thanks to the application of cutting-edge technologies, our circular polyolefins from chemical recycling maintain the same properties as virgin resins, thus meeting even the demanding quality and hygiene requirements of the food industry.

This new alliance represents an opportunity to offer sustainable solutions to the value chain in the face of the current demands of society and highly differentiated products, such as this emblematic Choví’s mortar-shaped container.

With this alliance, the three companies advance their strategy of promoting the transition towards the circular economy in a sector with high safety and hygiene requirements.
