What are 100% renewable fuels?

These are liquid fuels made from organic wastes, such as used cooking oil or nut shells.

Furthermore, they are already available at more than 500 Repsol service stations in the iberian peninsula, for use in vehicles with internal combustion engines, according to the fuel it uses (gasoline or diesel).

Types of renewable fuels

There are two alternatives that differ in terms of the materials and techniques used for their production.

Biofuels

They are made from organic waste and turned into fuels for transportation. They are already a reality and are available at more than 500 of our service stations on the iberian peninsula.

Synthetic fuels or e-fuels

They are also known as renewable fuels of non-biological origin. They are produced by separating hydrogen from water and combining it with CO2 captured from the atmosphere. At present they are not sold, but there are pilot projects for their manufacture.
